This year, we've seen a lot of requests and comments about traveling solo. There are so many reasons through our traveling "lives" that we'd choose to travel alone.
For some, it's celebrating a special occasion, even when friends can't join you. For others, it's traveling to a destination that the rest of the family has no interest in. Perhaps you don't have many friends with the same flexibility with time or finances. There are dozens of reasons you might decide to "going it alone" and travel solo.
There are many choices when you're planning a solo trip...even though it gets a bad rap as being too expensive. It's true, there are times when a solo traveler must choose to pay a little extra to have a room or a stateroom to themselves. But, there are just as many choices now that don't involve exorbitant expenses.
Cruising has opened up solo staterooms, in every spectrum of the industry. From river cruises and small adventure cruises to luxury Cunard, you'll find plenty of choices. Norwegian Cruise Lines debuted their solo staterooms and were received so well that others, like Royal Caribbean jumped onboard the trend. (pun intended!)
Did you know that all-inclusive resorts like Beaches offer solo traveler specials? How about escorted tour groups?
Throughout the year, tour operators send us specials geared just to solo travelers. They might offer reduced rates, incentives or travel share.
How do you find all that is being offered and how do you best prepare/plan for the trip of your dreams?
Let us know where and when you want to travel and how you want to experience your trip. Do you want this to be a renewing solo trip, with a lot of pampering "me" time. Or, do you want to be part of a group experiencing a destination in a certain way (adventure, culinary, hobby)?
Through candid discussions with your travel professional, you can find the best values, and we'll match you with the best fit for this trip. Additionally, we recommend having some flexibility. Often times, there are certain times of the year that the solo specials are valid and the special staterooms or solo "slots" often fill up quick.
Even better, send us a note and let us know where you'd like to travel solo and we'll send you a message when we see new availability or specials for solo travel open up.
